Logy Bit, will this game stay free but im scared i will have to pay for it if it get's on steam D:

(+1)

Hey Alex. Even if we make a Steam version, this version on itch.io will always be free :)

thanks,BTW, i just got my hands on a DDR SN2 cabinet a few days ago, im really liking it, also, on the summer sale if bit pit get's on steam, ill ask one of my steam friends to gift it to me if they don't fell like getting it for theirselves thanks Cr1t1kal,-Alex

Any luck getting this game on mobile? Been fiending to play this since it was announced.

Honestly can't promise anything, but we are considering it.

Hello! Cr1tikal brought me here, I really don't know much about speaking english, so, sorry about that, I just wanted to know, how do a play with my sister? I want to play with her, but I don't know how, I don't have gamepads, or something like that, is it possible to play with the same keyboard? By the way, sorry for not donating, I don't have any money, but I like the game

Hey! Currently you can only play multiplayer with your friend if you have at least one gamepad, sorry.

Oh, okay, thanks for responding!

Thank you for giving me something quick to play as a break in between studying!
P.S.: The lack of balancing does show quite a bit.

You could pretend it's really a meticulously balanced system designed to frustrate you and keep you from slacking off :)

On Linux Mint with Nvidia 980ti, I seem to be getting weird graphical flashing? Anyone else seen that?

First of all, your graphics card makes us jelly. Secondly, we haven't encountered any flashing on any platform ourselves, so I'm afraid we can't point you in a direction. Sorry :/

My graphics card is probably smarter than me :P

Is there any way I can help you track it down?

Unless this is what happened, probably not. Considering the game works fine on Mac & Windows our guess is that it's not the game's code that's the problem, but some underlying Unity BS, like usual. Still, sorry about this.

(1 edit)

I've the same issue on Arch Linux.

Had the same issue you had. Pressing 9 a couple of times solved it for me.

I liked the unity comment on the score screen :3

I can't launch the game on my computer :(

I have an Ubuntu 14.04 (x64) computer.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately we don't know why that would be, as Unity's Linux export is pretty much targeted towards Ubuntu.

hmmm... yes. If you are using Unity it's tough to fix problems like that :/

I have this problem with other unity games too :(

Try to run the game in the terminal with the "-force-opengl" parameter.

Since I need to use a Windows computer for my study, I decided to uninstall Linux on my computer.

Anyhow, thanks for the reply. :)

i love the challenge! Great game :)

Glad the game is getting better and harder with the updates :) I'm also shocked by your scores people. I hardly pass 450 and you're all bragging about 2k-3k. Not cool!

10/10 game! Looks SEXY AS HELL and very addicting. Would love to see this get greenlit on Steam. And props to you guys for the name your price option. When I get some money you can expect a big donation from me!

So much fun, would definitely buy a full featured game. also sound is not working over hdmi so might wanna fix that

Good show! I would be willing to pay a good amount for this game! (if I wasn't broke)

Love it. Please develop the idea further.

Absolutely love the game, been playing it for an hour or 2 every day and I finally feel like I can brag about my score.

funny how he couldn't have noticed a murderer's face, or since he's a murderer, the blood on his hands or on the ground, although that would've been from him. Maybe there's a knife? Seriously though, he didn't recognize the face of a murderer?

Anyone know how to install on Linux? I'm sorta new to Linux and don't know how to install .zip files.

unzip the zip archive

and then right click the executable file go to properties, and change the permissions so it 'allows executing file as an executable'

Freaking awesome game man. I've played this game for 6 hours till now and finally scored more than 3k.

Just a single thing though. I think the narrowest pit is harder than the widest, but you don't get any score incentives when you play the narrowest run. I guess giving the narrowest higher score per second than the widest will be nice. Other than that, it's so addictive and challenging game.

Also could you tell me how to upload pictures in the comment section here? That would be so nice.

Hey Shirl, thank you!

When we made pit width variable so it wouldn't be cramped if you're playing with friends, and not too wide if you're playing alone. So the narrower pits are really "how it's meant to be played" for singleplayer, but we didn't want to enforce that. We did a few things to balance this game, but we didn't feel like it was polished enough to justify a fair score-incentive for certain pit widths, and left them all the same.

I don't believe itch.io lets you upload images itself, but you could use a service like imgur, and then link the image.

Oh right.. Thanks pal :)

So, what would you like to see in the game if Logy Bit decided to make a more complete version of Bit Pit?

Some achievements, some unlockable new characters, and an epilogue will be nice. Leaderboards will be awesome too.

Is there anyway to play this game on mobile Android?

(1 edit)

Maybe soon. It'd need a rework, performance is awful.

This is one of the best things I've played on Itch.io yet.

2696 on the largest pit. I think I won.

(1 edit)

Well, damn.

Like the game says, you've got every right to brag now that you've managed to crush even my best.

Bug: Pressing 0 on a Mac (running El Capitan 10.11.2 if it matters) randomizes the hue value but the screen colours remain the same.

It's an addicting little game, glad I donated $5 for it.

You're right, sorry about that. Fix is up now.

Thanks for catching that, and of course thank you for supporting us as well! :)

@LogyBit bitpit'in haberini www.yerli.ninja 'da yayınlamak istiyorum. Twitter'da takip edersen (https://twitter.com/yerli_ninja) ya da mail adresini iletirsen detayları gönderebilirim.

I can't play the game with the gamepad, I have a Genius MaxFire G-12U with an XBOX360 controller emulator, I can skip the cutscene, but can't do anything after that

360 controllers are definitely supported, so I'm not sure what the problem could be if it's not the emulator, sorry :/

Oh well, I guess I'm not going to be able to play with my brother now :/ We both love penguinz0 and we both wanted to play this game :c

who is zamarthik?

Inside joke about a League of Legends player we got queued up with once.

An insanely awesome game! so addicting and frustrating. In the good way. If you want to see me struggle to jump up two blocks, i made a video

This game, coming so soon after the release of Downfall on steam, has me addicted. I'm serious when i say you should submit this to steam, Its simple and amazing. If you added in an achievement system and some backdrop graphics, i could see this being very popular.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiidpwiv2PA Try beat me ;)

(1 edit)

Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but... 1700.

If someone can beat that, you get a medal. But not a real one because then I'd have to ask for your shipping address and that'd be weird.

fuck, I have 1461 right now :p

I WANT TO MAKE IT OUT THIS PIT SO BAD MY SOULMATE IS WAITING FOR ME

My high score

Watch me getting a good high score ;) love this game!!

Can't seem to join any local parties. Tried by simultaneously firing up Mac OS / Windows machines, and with 2 Mac OS machines (all on the same WLAN), but seem to get only one of the player boxes filled. Any tips to get this to work?

Hey inc. Unfortunately multiplayer only works on the same machine. You can plug in up to 4 gamepads and join the game with your friends that way.

My high score is 535 it gets tough at around 200 or 300, very well made game! 11/10 IGN cats.

Bump for gameplay footage.

Pending edit and splitting into two videos, people would rather downrate then click their mouse it appears lol.

I'm enjoying this so far, and really do hope you continue to find time to expand this!
The menu tip "Have you listened to a recorder solo yet?" got me thinking. If you make special stages, Cr1t's recorder skills should be the music for a stage, or even just put a button on the menu tip that plays some of it :')

Sick work

(2 edits)

Fun fact: there's actually a 1% chance of that happening currently.

Fuck. Yes.
I'm gonna now play till this happens.

(1 edit) (+1)

The great Cr1tikal brought me here, but I gave it a shot and it's actually a fun and addictive little game. Great concept and back story too (though so sad D: ).

Also, as much as the dev(s) obviously hates Unity, the game ran out of the box on my Ubuntu Linux machine so I do appreciate that ;)

I like how when you start a game it just shows the restart screen

(+2)

This sounds like something we should fix, can you give us any info on how to reproduce?

we may never know the human art of how to reproduce.

(+1)

I'm running windows 10, I download the game, unzip using 7zip, place on desktop, I boot it up, every thing seems fine. I attempt to start a game and it goes to the restart screen with a score of zero. I have since re-downloaded a second time and it works fine

So, just a question, what's the Logy BIt folks' high scores? Mine's 817.

Bit Pit is pretty great right now, but I'd totally like to see more done with this. ("Boss" fights, perhaps? Rapid-drop mode? Extra-hazardous mode?)

(+2)

Kaya: 1568

Pinar: 478

Charlie: 872

Looks like you beat one of our scores! Which is unfortunate because now we have to assassinate you...

(1 edit)

Well, I just beat myself with 1128.

I'm guessing that means you're gonna hire two assassins now?

Also, I'm just guessing with this, but I think the points multiplier is tied to the amount of blocks dropped. (At 10, it's x2, at 100, it's x3, etc.) It could be time, though, I'm not sure...

...okay, I just got 1700 points. I think I might just go to Burger King, get one of the kids' meals with the paper crown, take a permanent marker, write "PIT BOSS" on it, open up a casino, and use the money I get from it to buy a kevlar helmet and bulletproof vest. And maybe bulletproof pants, too.

Also, one of my favorite things about this game is just... that start-of-game sound. It's one of the most downright cool sounds to signify the start of a game.

(1 edit) (+1)

Well holy shit, that is impressive. I have to beat you soon or I'll lose my own life. Also IIRC the multiplier is tied to the number of digits in seconds passed. Seconds 1-9 is x1. 10-99 is x2. 100-999 is x3 etc.

Just beat two devs with 1329

Hey @logy bit is there a way to do multiplayer Via hamachi? for those who can't go across the country to play this with their friends?

Deleted a few comments because they were getting off topic, sorry about that.

Nice game! What font did you use?
